Update: We've (Microsoft) recovered the underlying database infrastructure and confirmed new emails are now unaffected. They monitoring the service whilst previously queued emails are processed. For further information, please check EX252124 in the admin center. It appears this issue is now resolved Update: Microsoft identified that a load balancing configuration issue was causing impact. No news is good news. :)  This is a reminder of our weekly server maintenance window that occurs every Friday at 11PM through 3AM Saturday morning (based on client server time zone.) This is a rolling update so most servers will be available during the majority of the maintenance window or may not require updates. MULTIFACTOR TEXT SYSTEM ISSUE - RESOLVED

To avoid similar issues int the future, we HIGHLY recommend maintaining at least 2 multifactor options.    If you are able to use you mobile phone we recommend using the Google Authenticator as your primary method.  This is much more reliable to texts.      This article covers the other options and how to set up Google Authenticator. Microsoft Exchange Online Outage (430PM PST 2/3/2021)

UPDATE: 510 PST  - It appears that the blocked traffic is decreasing as Microsoft reroutes traffic. "We’re continuing to reroute traffic to alternate systems and are starting to see some relief. More information can be found in the admin center under EX237654." 430PST  Microsoft is working to reroute traffic due to issues with Exchange Online for some customers in North America.
